I also am posting it here again separately so it is easier to find: I posted the information of us looking for help on all the threads about my mod. It would be cool to see some proof of concept demos, I think a hydra a mic and the rift is all we need for some really cool demos. You could even make up your own gestures and come up with your own magic spells or abilities. It would open up a lot of new interesting game play elements that weren't possible before. You can imagine a game where you could run around yelling magic spells combined with hand gestures and have a very powerful spell system.ĭifferent hand gestures could trigger different spells, and you could also control the power of the spell by the length of the gesture or voice command. With that said, VR is a very interesting platform for role playing games in general. I haven't played WoW in years, and don't plan on ever returning to it.(i played it for too long, and WAY too much, when i went for Grand Marshall i was playing it 20 hrs a day.) I had macros for things like "follow", "heal me", "heal" (healed current target), "shield", etc, etc.

I can't recall the name of the software i used, but it worked well enough most of the time. I would have my priest following me around by using voice commands.

Or it can be as simple as saying "attack/follow", a number assigned to a macro, and a HUD command that activates a floating screen mode so you can mess with your settings/macros while using the headset. Imagine the hardcore gamers making fancy spell names to activate their macros, it would be pretty sweet. Yea, if WoW is ever going to be played with Oculus Rift, there's gonna need to be a voice command system that activates enemy selection and macros.
